Imphal, August 02:
Observing that the insurgency movement in the State is going through a chaotic phase, as a result of which people have become sceptical of the movement, the proscribed KCP has detailed ills of factionalism and protracted ideological conflict among insurgent groups.
A statement issued by KCP's interim president Ningamba MS detailed the adverse effects on the revolutionary movement caused by factionalism, emergence and proliferation of pseudo-revolutionaries, ideological conflict among UG groups, wrongful activities and grave mistakes like random killing of innocent people, kidnapping for ransom, hurling of grenades at public places etc.
Asserting that the main source of factionalism is often absence of good leadership, it cited the present day KCP as an example.
Conceding that factionalism is the main cause for emergence and proliferation of pseudo-revolutionaries who have been extorting money and intimidating public in the name of the revolutionary movement, the outfit accused Indian intelligence agencies, particularly Military Intelligence of being instrumental in raising pseudorevolutionaries.
It further alleged that many individuals who are mostly surrendered UG cadres in cahoot with army and Assam Rifles authorities have been extorting from the public.
Moreover, some police officers are also involved in extortion in the name of some faction-ridden UG groups.
Nonetheless, the outfit asserted that all pseudorevolutionaries can be wiped if and when all the splinter groups of faction ridden organisations are unified and there is cooperation among all UG groups.
Noting that the protracted ideological conflict among insurgent groups has been aggravating the present chaotic phase of the revolutionary movement, Ningamba MS asserted that there can no real progress in the movement until the ideological conflict is collectively resolved once and for all.
The ideological conflict among UG groups has also divided the people.
The nasty brawl that took place at Kekrupat on June 18 this year and the recent heated altercations between AMUCO and UCM through media speak volumes for the fact that the so called leaders of the people have also been doing things in their own ways, ignoring public sentiment.
Observing that the need of the hour is collective endeavour to restore unity, the outfit declared that the "leadership of the party will always put our revolutionary movement first and we are now prepared to sacrifice everything for the sake of our revolutionary movement".
