Indo-Myanmar trade, road connectivity discussed

A team led by the parliamentary secretary Mr Vungzagin Valte today had an intense discussion about Indo-Myanmar road connectivity at Churachandpur district, with the Chief Minister of Chin State of Myanmar who are here in Imphal to grace the ongoing Sangai Festival as a guest from Myanmar.
The Chief Minister of Chin state Mr.U Hong Ngai, who acted as the chief guest at the Sangai Festival�inauguration program, was accompanied by Dr.Ba Maung the Social Welfare Minister, Mr U Kien Ngein Forest Minister, Mr U Cinlianpau Electricity and�Industry Minister, U Ro Bin MLA�and other 36 delegate/officials who are here to attend the Sangai festival�in Imphal.
The �meeting� at the hotel Classic of Imphal, where the �Myanmer� officials along with other 36 delegates �are stationed, between the Chin state Chief minister team and the minister of Manipur �team�� led by �Mr V Valte �which� include Zomi Council's� steering committee member Mr.R Sanga, Zomi human right Secy.

Mr.Suanthang� discussed the matters relating to connectivity� and� border trade center at Behiang� located at Singat Sub- Division.
V Valte� said that the� surface /Road� connectivity discussed today �will shorten the present� distance� between the present Moreh to Silchar to approximately �200 km, if� it is diverted to Silchak�Behiang �while the Chief minister of Chin State also stated that the distance�� in their side�� to have a trade with India will also be� shortened� by more than 60 km, if the Behiang� project comes to a reality.
The � working out of the �discussion for Behiang trade center will also �be a boost �to the Indian government's �look east policy �and the post at Behiang Village and the �diversion of the connectivity is �a rational �project �compared to the existing post at Moreh and in part of Mizoram border with Myanmar the leaders in principle �agreed during the discussion.
