Lamphel PS, 1st MR named DGP Trophy winners

Lamphel police station in Imphal West district and the 1st Battalion Manipur Rifles have been named winners of the DGP Trophy for Best Police Station and Best Battalion, respectively.
The award, which recognises outstanding performance among police stations and battalions, will be presented during the Police Raising Day celebration on Saturday.
The awards include trophies, commendation certificates, and cash prizes.
According to an order issued by Manipur DGP, the screening committee constituted to inspect police stations across the state recommended Lamphel police station for the Best Police Station of 2024.Jiribam PS and Churachandpur Women PS have been jointly adjudged as the second position winners, while Patsoi PS in Imphal West and Bishnupur PS will share the third prize.
In addition to the police stations, the department will also honour two officers with the DGP Award for Best Police Officer for their exemplary service and contribution.
The officers are sub-inspectors L Sarjubala Devi of Bishnupur Women PS and Vashum Meena of Ukhrul Women PS.
In the category of best battalions, the screening committee evaluated units of Manipur Rifles (MR) and India Reserve Battalions (IRBs).
Among the MR units, Imphal headquartered 1st battalion has adjudged as the winner for 2024, followed by 2nd MR, and the 8th MR, Leikhun, Chandel in joint second position.
The 8th IRB (CDO), Khabeisoi, and the 5th MR, Khongjaron, have been selected for the third position.
The awards aim tb acknowledge the dedication and hard work of the Manipur Police force in maintaining law and order and ensuring public safety across the state.
