Imphal, June 09 2026:
The All Manipur Recognised Private Schools' Welfare Association (AMRPSWA) has submitted a set of recommendations on major public examinations to the Government, seeking reforms to make school exams more credible and transparent.
Speaking to the media at Manipur Press Club on Tuesday, AMRPSWA president Laishram Joy Khuman said the recommendations emerged from a seminar titled "Major Public Examinations in School Education: Issues and Challenges" held on May 24 at State Guest House, Imphal.
Prof W Nabakumar moderated the seminar.
The proposals have been sent to BOSEM and COHSEM .
The report focuses on three broad areas.
First, under the Examination System and Administration, it calls for greater accountability and transparency from exam authorities, CBSE-style question setting, creation of a resource pool for question banks and moderation, and ensuring questions are framed strictly from the syllabus and prescribed textbooks.
It also stresses exam reforms under NEP 2020 and increasing instructional days.
Second, on Evaluation and Question Analysis, it recommends orientation and workshops for evaluators, selection based on qualifications and teaching experience, and mandatory post-examination question analysis.
Third, regarding Teaching Learning Process and Educational Reforms, it urges a shift from rote memorisation to skill-based education, strengthening inclusive and life-skill education, regular teacher training, revision of textbooks in line with NEP 2020, and regular parentteacher meets with counselling support.
Joy Khuman said the goal is to ensure HSE and HSLC exams are conducted with transparency, academic integrity, and active participation of all stakeholders.
