'State Home Dept filled with corruption, nepotism'

The BJP, Ukhrul unit has alleged that the Home Department of Manipur is filled with anomalies, corruption and nepotism.
Collection of fact files and reliable information have revealed that deserving police personnel of every ranks and files have been subjected to biasness and discriminations.
While a majority of them remained without promotion for more than 20 years, some newbies are found in oddly high positions.
The DPC for promotion from SIs to Inspectors supposed to be held in November has been awkwardly interfered and halted for the reasons best known to the CM of Manipur.
"Are there any near and dear ones of the CM and the Deputy CM in tow for promotion who are short of two or three years service?," asked M Worthington, president of BJP, Ukhrul district in a statement.
The statement said the recent announcement of promotion in the Police Department has turned out to be an occasion of jubilation for a few and shocks and anguish for many.
M Worthington then said the statement of Deputy CM, Gaikhangam about the "ignorance of the laws and misinterpretation of customs" in a function of the Manipur High Court, on November 16 is a biased statement supposedly in seek for favour of some community.
Situations and circumstances demands the merit of either the law or the custom as required.
According to the Ukhrul BJP leader, in their connection, it is also advisable to the Govt.of Manipur that a justiciable and amicable solution over the Seijang and New Silent problem be brought about taking into account the basic and unignorable rights of both sides.
"Hitherto, the action of the government of Manipur seems inclined upon a single party.
It will not be wrong to presume that mishandling of the problem can catapult to social and political chaos in Manipur," the president of BJP, Ukhrul district added.
