Govt to help entrepreneurs, investors to include State in industrial map: Minister Govindas

With the sole aim to include the State of Manipur in the industrial map of the country, the State Government would extend all possible help to entrepreneurs and investors, said Commerce & Industries Minister Govindas Konthoujam during the inauguration of Shri Balaji Flour Mills at Nilakuthi Food Park today.
The newly built Shri Balaji Flour Mills was inaugurated by Chief Minister O Ibobi as the chief guest.
However, he had to leave the function to attend other functions.
Minister Govindas Konthoujam who presided over the function asserted that financial status of the State would be further enhanced if economic activities go increasing, while appealing to wealthy people to invest their money instead of keeping in their homes.
Special Economic Zone has been set up in many of the States excluding Manipur of the country to facilitate its economy.
Wealthy persons here in the State should invest their money in various ventures taken up by the government like Food Park in pursuance of setting up of Special Economic Zone in the State too, he said.
Confiding that a sum of Rs 12 crore is still needed to complete the construction of Nilakuthi Food Park of which the government has not able to finish it due to financial crunches, the Minister made an announcement that allotment of 24 Plants out of the total 49 of the Food Park for which payment is due, will be cancelled to pave way for auction.
He then appealed to all concerned not to threaten and serve monetary demand to industrialists who are providing jobs to many unemployed people of the State.
Attending as guest of honor, K Ranjit, MLA Sugnu Constituency said that Shri Balaji Flour Mills which inaugurated today would produce different varieties of flour, while noting that it is high time for farmers of the State to prepare required raw materials needed to produce varieties of flour.
Biren, MLA Lamlai Constituency who was also present at the occasion said that Shri Balaji Flour Mills has the capacity to produce 100 metric tonne of different varieties of flour per day.
However, it would not be able to produce the quantity at present.
Maintaining that production of flour will be varied in accordance to the public demand, the Minister added that around 70 workers are employing in the mills currently.
Today's inauguration function was also attended by MLA Kh Devendro as guest of honor.
