Soon there will be an archive for Manipuri films in the state, said Commissioner Arts and Culture, Dr RK Nimai in a felicitation function held at the office of Manipur Film Development Corporation Limited (MFDC).
The corporation felicitated artistes who participated in the 41st International Film Festival of India, Goa and artistes who won awards in the 7th Manipuri Film Festival, 2010 in a function held at the office of the corporation at Konung Mamang.
Arts and Culture Commissioner, Dr RK Nimai graced the function as chief guest.
Managing Director of MFDC, Dr K Sobita presided over the function.
Chief guest of the function presented certificates and memento to the artistes who participated in the 41st International Film Festival of India, Goa.
Haobam Pawankumar, Kh Pradipkumar, Suvash E, Nabakumar Khagokpam, Bina Khagokpam, Prema Moirangthem, Actress Y Roma and Horojit Nongmaithem were honoured in the function.
The function also felicitated the award winning artistes in the 7th Manipur Film Festival.
In a speech, Dr RK Nimai said that the government is planning to set up an archive for the Manipuri films under the MFDC.
He appealed the producers and directors of the state to extend their cooperation I in maintaining the archive.
Dr K Sobita said that a film studio will be set up in the near future by the MFDC.
