The Naoriya Pakhanglakpa Local Council, CPI today released its annual calendar of various work programmes taken up in the assembly constituency in a function held at the residence of social worker Oinam Malesh at Kwakeithel Lamdong.
Secretary, CPI State Council, Langol Iboyaima, MLA N Mangi, Oinam Malesh and Ch Binod attended the function as presidium members.
In a speech, social worker Oinam Malesh said that he started his social work with an aim to bring unity among the different communities of the state.
While Nagas are demanding for a separate Nagalim, Kukis are demanding for a Kuki homeland.
It is a serious issue of our territorial and traditional integrity.
If initiatives to unite the different communities are not taken in time, then all the communities of the state will be on the verge of extinction and non emergence.
It is high time to unite and fight against communalism for a united and strong state.
Speaking in the occasion, MLA Mangi said that the peaceful coexistence and equal status among the rich and poor ones is the ideology of CPI.
The reason why the poor ones are poor is not of any sin in their past life.
They are not getting their rightful facilities and schemes from the government.
CPI is pressing the government to give the poor their rights and facilities to root out their poverty.
He said that the present turmoil in the state arise out of the communal ill feelings among the different communities of the state.
The present social system needs to be changed for a better and peaceful society.
He appealed the people of the constituency to cooperate with CPI local council for a better and developed society.
CPI is supporting the SPF government for a stable government but not for the seat of ministers.
People are able to see some changes in the past few years due to the stable government of SPF.
In a speech, Langol Iboyaima said that, CPI strives for a socialist society in which there will be no difference among the people.
Social worker Oinam Malesh is also joining the party for this puspose.
He appealed the people of the constituency to support Malesh in his works.
He said that the party has a minister in the SPF government.
He is doing whatever he can in his departments for the welfare of the people of the state.
For instant, the party is pressing the government to increase the wages of unskill labour from Rs 80 to Rs 150 instead of Rs 120 .
Besides, the party had launched many agitations pressing the government to control the sky high prices of daily commodities.
The party is also pressing the Union government to bring a political solution to the present arm conflict, reservation for women and provide more autonomy to the state.
As part of the function, social worker Oinam Malesh extended financial assistance to four destitute children.
