Director Genral of National Mission Authority of India and also joint secretary (adult education) Jagmohon Singh Raju camping in Imphal to overlook implementation of Central sponsored Saakshar Bharat Mission today held interaction with state literacy mission functionaries at Kangla hall.
Even though the interaction session was held smoothly, mission functionaries who came from different districts were not satisfied with the mode of arrangements for the participants.
When lunch was not properly served as per assurance given by the organizing authorities, many of the functionaries have to serve themselves in the hotels.
They were also not given DA and TA which are to be paid by the organizer side.
The attitudes of the organizing towards them were strongly condemned by the mission functionaries who are coming from Tamenglong, Chandel and Senapati districts.
According to them, as per organizer's (Manipur State Literacy Mission Authority) intimation to arrive at the venue by 9.30 am, they came from their respective villages as early as 4 am by reserving buses.
They were informed of serving lunch but at the concluding part of the programme only 300 to 400 lunch packs were distributed even though there number was around 1000 .
Those who could not get the lunch pack have to go back without food for the day or served at hotels on their own expense.
Before leaving for their respective districts, mission functionaries strongly charged organizers of diverting funds when they failed to receive TA&DA, reimbursement for hiring buses.
They could not meet the coordinator of the organizers before leaving, they lamented.
Earlier, director general of National Literacy Mission held interaction with the state mission functionaries in the programme jointly organized by the National Literacy Mission Authority and Manipur State Literacy Mission Authority.
From the Manipur government side, commissioner (adult education) BB Sharma, chairman of Thoubal District DLS Md Ator Rehaman, chairman of Senapati district ADC's DLS G Sohem Golmei took part in the interaction in which district level mission functionaries, members of gram panchayat, village level mission functionaries participated in the interaction.
