Imphal, June 09 2015 :
The recently held ADC election at 3-Konphung DCC went proxy voting in all polling stations knowing that the BJP is winning.
A press note released by BJP President, Konphung ADC Segment alleged that NPF party leaders in 52/Tamei A/C used Naga insurgents as their main muscle power to threaten the public on the pretext of smooth progress in peace talk.
BJP workers and agents in some polling stations were abducted and kept in their custody for a week, tortured and beaten up black and blue.
It further said that one of them even threatened the BJP candidate and asked him not to turn up again to campaign in their area by stopping him at the middle of the road while the candidate was on the way along with his supporters.
"We, the BJP supporters agree favouring the NPF politically, but convincing every voter/public forcibly, using the insurgents as NPF weapon is not acceptable at all" added the statement.
If the election was conducted democratically with free and fair franchise BJP would have won the majority in 3-Konphung DCC.
The election was totally against the election code of conduct, saying that, the polling station at Konphung, Piulong (Bunning) and Taipram (Ndai) voted for NPF at gun point and even it was witnessed by some Indian security forces.
At Takou, in particular, the polling officers hid the ballot box at the residence of NPF Chief Agent.
It further appealed to the State and Central governments to terminate all the polling officers as they could not perform their own duty while the insurgents made their presence among the public.
