IBSD, Senapati DA celebrate Women's Day

Imphal, March 08 2024:
Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Imphal celebrated the International Women's Day under the theme "Inspire Inclusion" to highlight the role of women for diverse and equitable world at its conference hall on Friday.
At the event, director professor Pulok Kumar Mukherjee highlighted various research activities carried out by IBSD for development of bio-economy from bio-resources of NER.
He applauded the role and achievements made by the women in every sector of life and their contributions in building the nation.
During the programme, resource persons including proprietor of Mukta Knitted Shoes Pvt Ltd Padmashri awardee M Muktamani and Meira Foods founder H Shubhra narrated their success stories and how they overcame difficulties in life to become successful entrepreneurs and inspire women in the state to venture into entrepreneurship and become self-sustenance.
The programme was coordinated by IBSD scientists Dr H Sunitibala, Dr Biseshwori Th and Dr S Indira, and IBSD senior administrative officer Dr W Mohendro.
Scientists, scholars, staff of IBSD, Imphal and other centres were also present at the event.
Meanwhile, Senapati district administration in collaboration with Integrated Child Development Services, Nehru Yuva Kendra Senapati, One Stop Centre, Senapati District Women's Association celebrated International Women's Day at DRDA Conference Hall, Senapati under the theme "Invest In Women: Accelerate Progress".
The celebration was attended by Senapati DC Mamoni Doley, SP Anupam, SDOs, DLOs, CSOs, police personnel and student volunteers.
During the programme, certificates of appreciation were distributed to women individuals and organisations for their outstanding services to the society.
