National Integration Tour reaches Kolkata

The National Integration Tour (NIT) of nine youth ambassadors from Manipur reached Kolkata experiencing the rich cultural heritage of the city and visited prominent Army installations.
During their two-day stay in Kolkata, the ambassadors visited the iconic Victoria Memorial, Kitchener House, Headquarters of Eastern Command, Eastern Command Museum and went on a Heritage walk at Fort William, said a release issued by PIB(Defence Wing) .
Lt Gen Ram Chandel Tiwari, UYSM, AVSM, SM, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command warmly welcomed the ambassadors and interacted with them while encouraging their aspirations & fostering a spirit of unity.
Further, the NIT team will be visiting Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh, where they are scheduled to visit significant landmarks of historical importance and pay their tribute at the Tawang War Memorial, remembering the brave soldiers of the Indian Army who made supreme sacrifice during the 1962 Indo-China War.
The tour was flagged off by the GOC, Red Shield Division on October 14, 2024, from Koirengei in Imphal East district.
