State logs 6 new cases, highest in 73 days

Imphal, June 29 2022: Government bulletins on Wednesday confirmed detection of six new positive cases of Covid-19, out of 80 samples tested in the last 24 hours, thus, registering 7.50 per cent positivity rate.

It was the highest daily new cases detected in 73 days.

The last time the state reported six fresh cases was on April 17.The six fresh cases (3 males & 3 females) are residents of Imphal West (5) and Imphal East (1) districts.

Wednesday also reported four recoveries after which the number of active cases stands at 18, out of which 17 are in home isolation.

Till date, the pandemic has claimed 2120 lives including seven CAPF personnel and infected 1,37,266 individuals including 5,014 CAPF personnel.

The virus has claimed lives of 194 vaccinated people including 61 who had received the second dose of Covid vaccine.

There are 14 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 47 in RIMS.

So far, the state has recorded 11,478 positive cases and 118 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave of the pandemic.

The current month has reported 28 new positive cases and no fatality with a monthly positivity rate of 1.65 per cent.

A total of 103 D-type and 7 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours and 2264 vaccine doses administered on Monday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 15,92,012, out of which 12,57,352 had received the second dose and 1,09,564 had taken precautionary doses.

As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and OCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (48768), Imphal East (30458), Thoubal (10161), Churachandpur (11054), Kangpokpi (3136), Tamenglong (3478), Bishnupur (9843), Senapati (2493), Ukhrul (3279), Kakching (6896), Chandel (2726), Noney (1161), Tengnoupal (1201), Jiribam (1111), Kamjong (1036), and Pherzawl (465).Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,237 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the Rational average of 30,873 CPM.

Test rate has improved to 5,20,339 tests per million population against the national average of 6,12,514 TPM.

Case fatality rate stands at 1.54 per cent while the recovery rate came down to 98.44 per cent.

The cumulative positivity rate stands 8.50 per cent.
