Tamenglong, October 12 2010:
The Consumer Club Tamenglong in collaboration with Zeliangrong Student's Union Tamenglong today conducted a drive against corruption in the heart of Tamenglong district HQs by a surprise inspection of all shops and the market place.
During the inspection they found many shop keepers selling commodities, past their expiry dates.
Goods were also sold underweight.
The team collected the expired from the shops and burned them in the heart of the town.
They have worth approximately Rs one lac.
'This is the last warning, The next time, we will be forced to take up stern action', said Mathiusang Panmei, Coordinator, Zeliangrong Students' Union Tamenglong.
He also thanked all volunteers who helped collect things from the shops.
