Casualties during the ILP agitations

Imphal, July 12 2015 :
One student has been killed, 81 innocent public and 15 Police and MR has been injured while many vehicles got vandalized till the fifth day on Sunday in the ongoing statewide mass movement led by Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) against the State Govt.demanding withdrawal of the controversial Manipur Regulation of Visitors, Tenants and Migrant Workers Bill 2015 (MRVT & MW Bill 2015) and pass a new bill which will protect the indigenous communities of Manipur.
People started the movement on July 8 and state police while trying to intervene the agitators used tear gas and baton which resulted in the killing of a student, Sapam Robinhood and injured as many as 40 innocent students while they protested at Minuthong area.
After that State Govt., to suppress the irate public, imposed indefinite curfew in Greater Imphal area.
During the curfew as many as 81 innocent publics including students were injured while demonstrating against the government and around 15 police including MR also got injured while trying to suppress the mob.
The injured were admitted to RIMS hospital, JNIMS hospital, Shija hospital, Raj Medicity, Imphal and Advance hospitals.
Among them, Tensubam Niki Meetei (24) of Khurai Puthiba who was critically injured at his head on July 10 was brought up at Raj Medicity for treatment.
But patient's family got disappointed when Dr.Motilal and Dr.Brojen refused to come to the hospital due to curfew.
Niki's father paid the hospital charge and discharged his son by himself hoping that he would sell his kidney and get the best treatment outside the state for his son.
Meanwhile,supporters of ILP on Saturday evening vandalized windshields of a MarutiVan MN 3701Gat Pallel market area while heading towards Imphal from Moreh.
On Sunday at around 4.30 pm a Maruti Gypsy,while heading towards Imphal from Ukhrul,also got its windshield broken while supporters of ILP pelted stones when the vehicle refused to stop at Lamlai Keithel area of Imphal East.Meanwhile the indefinite curfew that was imposed by Govt.after the July 8 incident has been relaxed for the third day on Monday from 5 am till 2 pm.
Curfew relaxed
The indefinite curfew which was imposed on July 8 on both Imphal East and Imphal West districts is relaxed from 5 am to 2 pm on Monday, July 13, 2015.Separate orders were issued by the district magistrate to this effect.
The orders shall be effective in the whole revenue districts.
However the prohibitory orders under section 144 CrPC which were promulgated on May 18, 2015 shall remain in force.
Under this provision nobody shall be allowed to carry stones, firearms, sticks and weapons of any description which can be used as offence weapons in these districts during the relaxation of the curfew.
Besides assembly of five or more persons will not be permitted.
