N Dijamani granted 3 months bail

Naorem Dijamani, who was arrested as a prime suspect in connection with the death of his wife (L) Naorem Rekha of Singjamei Mathak Thokchom Leikai (mother of famous fashion designer Robert Naorem), has been granted interim bail for three months by the Session Court of Imphal East.
The order came following the hearing of a bail application which was filed on health grounds by Dijamani's daughter.
After going through the bail application, Dijamani's medical report submitted by the SP of Manipur Central Jail and hearing the submissions of the counsels representing the State of Manipur and the petitioner, the Court granted 3 months interim bail to Dijamani by executing a PR bond of Rs 1 lakh along with two sureties.
The Court also ordered a medical report showing his health status to be submitted on March 18 for further hearing.
On the other, the Court also fixed January 28 for further hearing of the charges levelled against Dijamani in connection with murder of his wife Naorem Rekha on May 29 last year.
It may be mentioned that on August 27 last year, the IO of the case submitted charge sheets against Naorem Dijamani and on the same day, CJM Imphal West took cognizance of the case and put it up before the Session Court for conducting the necessary trial.
The charge sheet mentioned that it is highly suspected that the crime is an inside job and Naorem Dijamani is the main suspect but the investigation has not able to unearth any motive behind the murder.
The charge sheet also expressed strong suspicion that marital discord could be the reason for the murder.
