Relief, monetary aid extension continues

In continuation of its humanitarian efforts, the Peace and Integrity Committee Kiyamgei (PICK) distributed essential commodities and stationery items for young children across five relief camps in the peripheral regions.
The relief items were distributed to the inmates of the relief camps at Laphupat Tera High School, Chandokpokpi Chingyapat, Tangjeng Khunjao Community Hall, Tangjeng Khunou Mamang Leikai Community Hall and Khomdonbi Memorial English School Kakching.
Speaking by the sideline of the relief effort, Chingakham Meghachandra, convenor, PICK urged the relevant authorities to ensure that benefits provided by different State departments at relief camps in Imphal area are also made available at the relief camps in the fringe areas.
He shared that the inmates at such relief camps are facing tremendous hurdles in accessing medical care.
Drawing the attention of the Government to the inmates who have lost their livelihoods, he appealed to the State to issue job cards for them and support them by providing vocational training.
He made similar pleas for help from the clubs and organisations of the State.
Separately, the Relief Committee JNIMS has expressed gratitude to Wangkhei AC MLA Thangjam Arunkumar for a donation of Rs 10,000 made under his supervision.
Further, it added that a pharmaceutical dealer and distributor from Gandhi Avenue and Roop Mahal Tank donated roughly Rs 5 lakh worth in medicines.
Meanwhile, the Adhivakta Parishad, Manipur extended relief materials to the inmates of Thanga Wangma High School relief camp yesterday.
A statement issued by Salam Rupachandra Singh, general secretary, Adhivakta Parishad Manipur has also condemned the act of showing disrespect to women as revealed in the viral video.
It also urged the Government to bring normalcy in the State by taking up effective measures to avoid extending the crisis and putting an end to people's suffering.
