International Human Rights Day celebrated

As observed across the globe, International Human Rights Day was celebrated widely in the State under the theme, "Freedom, Equality, and Justice for All" .
International Human Rights Day is celebrated every year on December 10 to commemorate the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) by the United Nations General Assembly in 1948 .
The day serves as a reminder of the importance of human rights and the need to promote equality, peace, justice & protection of human dignity.
Today, Human Rights Defender Manipur and Human Rights Council Manipur jointly celebrated International Human Rights Day at Manipur Press Club in Majorkhul, Imphal.

It was attended by All Manipur Working Journalist Union (AMWJU) president Bijoy Kakchingtabam, Human Rights Defender Manipur chairman Joy Chingakham, Manipur Alliance for Child Rights former convenor Keisham Pradipumar, FIDAM president Kangujam Ranjit and Human Rights Council Manipur advisor Yumnam Ranbir as presidium members.
During the event, the dignitaries spoke on the need to raise awareness about human rights issues and advocate for positive changes.
They also expressed concern over the present conflict which has been going on for more than 7 months and violation of human rights in the State.
Similarly, International Human Rights Day was also jointly celebrated by Universal Mother Organisation and World Human Right Protection Organisation Manipur State Unit at Manipur Press Club.
It was attended by Universal Mother Organisation president M Sorojini and other prominent individuals of the State.
LMS Law College also observed International Human Rights Day at its Conference Hall in Imphal.
It was attended by LMS Law College, Principal, Dr N Pramod; Manipur High Court senior advocate & Bar Council Manipur, Chairman, S Brajabihari; senior advocate Ch Narendra; faculty and students of the college.
