A free medical camp was organized by 15 Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ 9 Sect AR at Salungpham village RM 5566 yesterday under the supervision of Dy Comdt Moichi Saka, SMO accompanied by Capt Vijay Kumar, RMO along with three.
Staff Nurse and three Nursing Asst.
According to information made available to the press by the AR authority concerned, the medical camp was specially organized to reach out to the villagers of far flung areas who are devoid of availing good medical services and deprived of basic health facilities.
Offg Comdt, 15 AR along with local MLA, Mr Okendro Singh also supervised the proceedings.
The medical camp attended to the common ailment of the local populace such as Malaria, Typhoid, Fever, Dysentery, Common cold, Helminthiasis (worm infection) skin diseases, dental problems, anemia and respiratory diseases etc Dy Comdt Moichi Saka, SMO particularly dealt with female related problems.
They were made aware of the common health hazards and their diagnosis.
Free medicines were also distributed amongst the local populace who came to avail the medical camp.
In all, 650 patients including 250 females and 80 children from Salungpham and nearby villages turned up for the medical camp.
All the patients were meticulously examined and were given proper treatment for their ailment.
The village headman and the local populace expressed their gratitude to 15 Assam Rifles for the humanitarian service rendered to the local populace.
