Candidates launch election campaign

Flag hoisting ceremonies of Trinamool Congress candidate, Konthoujam Sarat and independent candidate Khagenbam Ranjit were held at their respective residences today.
Speaking at the flag hoisting function of Sarat, MPP general secretary Kh Ibomcha said that the bye-election to Konthoujam A/C has given a chance to the people to teach a lesson to the Congress party which is not hearing the voice of people.
Recalling that during the present term of the Assembly, people had faced two bye-elections and this time is the third one.
In the two previous bye-elections, Congress had able to retain the seats because of money power but this time, electors of Konthoujam A/C will teach a lesson to the Congress, he believes.
Manipur Pradesh Trinamool Congress president Kim Gangte said that knowing the ideology of the Trinamool Congress, the party is getting support from other political parties.
She said that women have a great to take part in bringing a change in the society.
Women should not remain silent when the people are at the limit of their woes, she said urging the women consider twice before casting vote in favour of congress.
The flag hoisting function of the independent candidate, Konthoujam Ranjit was held at his residence at Khumbong Awang Leikai.
Speaking on the occasion, the independent candidate said that receiving bribes by the people at the time of elections has thrown themselves into the jaw of woes.
He said that he has not come out to fight the election with money power or he is not power hunger man.
He had not done any wrong against any person in his life, he added.
