Conference on 'Borderland peoples in Indo-Myanmar region' concluded

The two day conference on 'Borderland peoples in Indo-Myanmar region' was concluded today at Manipur University.
The conference was organised by Centre for Myanmar Studies, Manipur University and sponsored by Indian Council of Social Sciences was inaugurated yesterday in the presence of Prof S Mangi, Dean, School of Social Science, Manipur University; Prof W Chandababu, Registrar, Manipur University and Prof N Lokendra, HOD, Department of National Security Studies, said a statement issued by Manipur University.
On the inaugural day of the conference, there was a panel discussion chaired by Prof E Bijoykumar, Director, Centre for Social Exclusion and Inclusive Policy and the three panellists, Prof Ch Priyoranjan, Pradip Phanjoubam and Babloo Loitongbam gave different aspects of borderland peoples and their lives, added the statement.
The valedictory function was chaired by Prof MC Arunkumar, Director, Centre for Myanmar Studies.
62 presentations on different topics were made at the conference including 10 papers that were presented online from different parts of India, added the statement.
Prof W Nabakumar, former dean, School of Human and Environmental Sciences, Manipur University, gave key note for the conference.
