Thousands of Naga delegates from across Manipur gathered to consolidate their stand to support the Nagas' common aspiration of one Nation at the 30th Naga Students' Federation general conference held at Ukhrul District Headquarters under the theme "Solidarity Beyond Borders" .
The general conference began on August 24 and is slated to conclude on August 26 .
In his keynote address, Kegwayhun Tep, president of NSF informed that the general conference is held after an interval of every three years.
"It is not just an event but a conference to reason out our differences amicably for our betterment", Tep said.
He reached out to neighbouring communities to understand the historical rights of Naga people with an appeal to support the Naga political issue for lasting peace in the whole North East region of India.
Tep also urged the Kuki and Meitei communities to resolve the ongoing conflict honourably in order to restore peace.
The NSF president then made a clarion call to all Naga leaders to come together under one Nation and one people while adding that violence will not bring any solution.
Meanwhile, Nagaland MLA Kekhrielhoulie Yhome, Advisor, School Education & SCERT, Nagaland unveiled the 30th NSF general conference monolith at Nayi Kaphung, Ukhrul.
Speaking on the occasion, Yhome asserted that the word "Naga" has united all Naga communities living across the border in spite of the artificial political boundaries that divide the people.
Although NSF is a student organization, it was formed for the Naga political cause, he said.
Recalling the bravery of Naga forefathers, he said that the technique of guerilla warfare was perfected by the Nagas during the fight against the mighty British Army.
