Imphal, April 10 2020: To ensure the ongoing measures to streamline essential services during lockdown and urgent steps to provide immediate and specific aid are collectively initiated, the DC of Imphal East has issued a notification inviting voluntary support from all able sections of society.

The subsequent modalities/guidelines to be adhered to are:
1) To create an adhoc Food Bank (essential items) to provide immediate aid to poor and needy, migrant workers, daily wage labourers, students, aged, persons living with HIV/AIDS, transgenders, drug rehabilitation centres etc located all over the district.

2) All essential items like dry ration (rice, aata, maida, dal, edible oil, salt, potato, onions etc), milk, biscuits, package drinking water may be donated and non-food items like hygiene and sanitation related items like soaps, handwash, household cleaning supplies, diapers, sanitary pads, sanitizers and medical aid items like masks, gloves and PPEs etc may be donated.

3) No cash or valuables of any nature are acceptable.

4) Contributions may be made at office of Deputy Commissioner Imphal East, Porompat which shall also be the central distribution centre under supervision.

5) Donations can be made from 9 am to 5 pm .

6) Direct distribution to needy shall be done with the support of CSO/NGO/Indian Red Cross Society Imphal East NYK/NSS volunteers under supervision of Office of Sub Divisional Officers.

7) Social distancing and safety measures must be maintained at all times.

Further, it also stated that Mangminlian Vaiphei, Assistant Commissioner shall be the nodal officer and overall in charge of collection and distribution of all items.

The SP, Imphal East has also been requested to deploy sufficient man-power under command of an officer to manage and ensure safety, security and adherence of all laid down protocols during the entire exercise.
