Lui-Ngai-Ni festival

The Naga seed sowing festival, Lui-Ngai-Ni, will be celebrated in Tamenglong district Headquarters on February 14 and February 15 under the aegis of the United Naga Council (UNC).
The two-day gala event will be hosted by the Joint Tribes' Council (JTC).
As usual, blowing of trumpets, cultural dances and folk songs will be main features of the two-day event.
This year, Lui-Ngai-Ni will be celebrated under the theme "Quintessential cultural resurgence" .
'Lui-Ngai-Ni' was christened in 1986 and a collective Naga seed sowing festival was organized on February 15, 1987 and every year since then.
This day was officially recognized and declared a State holiday by the Government of Manipur in 1988, and the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India listed Lui-Ngai-Ni as one of the tourist festivals of India in 1997, said the organisers.
