ICOP, Faculty Development Programme held

A 1-Week Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on 'Translation of Ancient Text and Folk Literature of Manipur" kicked off today at the multipurpose hall of Government Hindi Teachers' Training College, Imphal.
The inaugural function was attended by graced by Dr Irom Gambhir Singh, Head, Department of English & Cultural Studies, Manipur University; Prof K Shitaljit Singh, Head, Department of Education, Manipur University and Prof Asha Thokchom, Principal, Government Hindi Teachers' Training College, Imphal as presidium members.
Dr N Kamala Devi and Dr S Vimla Devi of Government Hindi Teachers' Training College delivered the welcome & keynote address respectively.
The programme culminated with a vote of thanks proposed by Dr H Anandi Devi of the college.
Meanwhile, an Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on "9 years of Seva, Sushashan, Gariba Kalyan, SVEEP, Vision 2047, etc" was held today at Citizens' Club, Soibam Leikai.
The ICOP was organised by the Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Regional Office, Imphal under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India.
It was attended by ICDS Cell, Imphal East, DPO, B Sonamani Sharma; Citizens' Club president Naorem Mahendra and CBC, RO Imphal, FPO, Dr Nongmaithem Reena as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, B Sonamani enlightened the gathering about the various welfare schemes & programmes initiated by the Central Government and urged all to avail the benefits of the schemes/ programmes.
Stressing on the need to spread awareness about the schemes/ programmes initiated by the Central Government, Dr Reena said that CBC, RO Imphal has been organising ICOP from time to time through various mediums such as songs, drama & 'Leela' to make the public aware about the schemes and its benefits.
As part of the event, a quiz competition was conducted and prizes were distributed to the winners.
