Imphal, December 10 2023: Many continue to extend humanitarian aid to the displaced people who are staying at various relief camps across the State in a bid to provide some relief and alleviate their problems caused by the prevailing tense situation.

Today, members of Rotary Club of Imphal (RID-3240) visited different relief camps in Bishnupur district and distributed about 110 blankets to the conflict survivors staying there.

The blankets sponsored by OP Agarwal, Dr Radheshyam Oinam and KN Agarwal were provided at the relief camps set up in Sendra Ithing, Chingmei Ima Nganuleima, Chingmei and Moirang Khunou Mamang Sabal Mandop, said a release.

As part of its community service project, the club had earlier distributed wheelchairs and other winter clothes at various relief camps of the State.

Similarly, Thiyam Nilamani Singh, a resident of Khurai Ningthoubung Leikai, Tinseed Road, with the assistance of Peace Committee Wangkhei Kendra, Imphal has also distributed study materials including exercise book, practical notebook, pencil, eraser, etc and Rs 100 each to 34 displaced students staying in relief camps.

Thiyam Nilamani Singh is a teacher of Khurai Popular School and a Nodal Officer at Government Dance College, Relief Camp, Palace Compound, Imphal under Zonal Education Office, Zone-II, Porompat, said a release.

Meanwhile, Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency MLA Khumukcham Joykisan Singh today extended a financial assistance of Rs 10,000 to help the medical treatment of Ningthoukhongjam Sanajaoba Meetei.

Notably, the three time MLA Joykisan has been extending monetary assistance to injured or sick media persons even before he became a politician.

Sanajaoba is a Video Journalist of Information Service Television Network (ISTV) and is from Keibi Makha Leikai.

Moreover, beneficiaries of Individual Household Latrine Scheme (IHHL) from Imphal Municipal Corporation Ward Number 6 Uripok have come together to extend humanitarian aid to the displaced children taking shelter at Langol Type-III, Meitei Langol Leima Khullen Leikai Relief Camp.

Today, more than 330 beneficiaries of IHHL contributed Rs 500 each to provide winter clothes to the children of the age group 2 months-14 years staying in the relief camp.

A special health camp was also conducted and services including blood sample test and sugar test for diabetes were provided to the conflict survivors staying there.

The beneficiaries also provided 40 Kg of fish to the relief camp.

Besides, the management team of Ibotombi Institute of Education (IIE), Kha-Naorem Leikai, Chanchipur, along with thirty B Ed 1st Semester 2023-25 Batch Teacher Trainees led by IIE principal Dr RK Bijen Singh and administrator Samantajit today provided relief materials at the relief camp opened in Phayeng High School.

The relief materials included food items, winter clothes and stationery items such as books, pens, pencils, etc, said a release.

During the visit, the team interacted with the displaced students staying in the camp and also conducted an interactive class.
