All Hamai Development Association (AHDA) has inspected the road construction works being taken up in Hamai inhabited area of Tamenglong district.
Presenting the report of the inspection, AHDA secretary K Liangmai pointed out that the construction of the agricultural road from Haochong to Makui Gulai via Langka village which was started in 2005 with funding under RVSY has not been executed properly though the sanctioned amount had already been withdrawn.
In connection with construction of Tamei-Kuilong Road under PMGSY by State PWD since 2006, the secretary asserted that no improvement can be seen along the said road till date.
As for Tamei-Tamenglong Road which is being construction under SPA fund at an estimated cost of Rs 9 crores, it has been detected that no quality has been maintained, the secretary pointed out.
The secretary further informed that though construction/repairing of the Tamei-Tening Road had been started in late 90s with funding under NEC, the road is no even worst then the State funded road with no vehicles being able to ply due to fear of cracks and possible collapse of bridges and culvert, etc.
As for construction work along the IT Road, Kangpokpi-Tamei stretch with funding under ACA, 2004 there are many contractors working in different portions of the road but none seem to care about maintaining the quality of the work executed, the secretary added.
