UG clashes condemned

Imphal, August 02: Taking strong exception to the shoot-out between armed cadres of KNO-Zougam and KNF (S) at Nungleiband and Tubung area at about 2.45 pm of July 31 during which houses belonging to Lanjailung Thaimei, Gaithaopou Thaimei, Katangam Kamei and Peisunlung Thaimei located in Nungleiband/Leimatak area were badly affected, the Luwanglong Khullen including Nungleiband and Tubung area village authority, women society, churches and Mahila Congress Leimatak area have strongly condemned the shoot-out.

In a joint statement, these organisations have also further urged upon the authority concerned to clear the area of armed groups and to avert such disturbing activities in future.
