Imphal, May 02 2024: Goods worth Rs 2.8 lakh were looted from Khuman Furniture located at Tiddim Road Konjeng Leikai under Singjamei Police Station during the intervening night of May 1 and May 2 .

According to Heikrujam Somorjit, Proprietor, Khu-man Furniture, the robbery came to light when his father, H Gulapi, went to open the store at around 6 this morning.

Stating that his father locked the store at 6 pm yesterday night, Somorjit informed that no one had stayed back at the shop due to the bad weather.

The looted goods include chopped wood that had been recently procured to construct various furniture and some woodworking machinery, said Somorjit.

It may be noted that two workshops in the vicinity of Khuman Furniture were also robbed recently.
