Rich tributes paid to martyrs

Koirengei Wangma Village Development Committee on Thursday organised a simple function to pay respect and offer floral tributes to the brave heroes who made the supreme sacrifice for the cause of the motherland in the ongoing conflict.
The event held at Awang Wabagai Community Hall was participated by the members of the committee, Meira Paibis and people of the area.
Speaking to media persons, Koirengei Wangma Village Development Committee president Phijam Priyokumar said, "It is now clear to all the Investigation Agencies of the country and the Central Government that the ongoing conflict in the State is a war waged by Chin Narco Terrorists to destabilize Manipur and India" .

He shared that it is important for all to acknowledge and honour the sacrifices made by the martyrs who gave their lives for the cause of the motherland in the present unrest.
He also appealed to the Government and authorities concerned to expedite the investigation into the murder of two innocent students and recover their bodies at the earliest.
Priyokumar further urged the Government to take necessary action to dismantle and destroy the bunkers installed by Kuki Terrorists in the areas from Koirengei to Kanglatongbi.
Similarly, Singjamei Apunba Lup (SAL) has also offered "Langban Tarpon" for the brave heroes who gave their lives during the present unrest to rest in peace.
In a release, SAL also appealed to the people of Singjamei area to consider the plight of the displaced people who are currently taking shelter in relief camps and forego Ningol Chakkouba celebration this year.
SAL informed that although there is no restriction on religious events, entertainment activities such as gambling (Lagao Khaoba) and use of fire crackers should be avoided by all.
Meanwhile, Alumni of Kindergarten Montessori School on Thursday organised a candlelight vigil to pray for Hijam Linthoingambi and Phijam Hemanjit, who were brutally killed by Kuki militants.
Members of Van Drivers Association, teachers, students from Classes IX to XII and ex-students of the school took part in the candlelight vigil and demanded justice for the two students.
