Imphal, August 11 2015 :
In the light of the closure of schools/colleges for more than a month on account of the mass movement for enforcement of Inner Line Permit System or a similar mechanism in the State, Sika Higher Secondary School has decided to waive off one month's tuition fee.
Speaking to media persons here this evening, Sika Higher Secondary School chairman Longjam Anandkumar said that they decided to waive off one month's tuition fee taking due consideration of the people's repeated question whether school authorities and van service operators should take tuition fee and transportation fares while the schools remained shut throughout a month.
He said that he would propose van service operators transporting students of Sika School to take reduced fares for at least one month.
Pointing out that time is running short to cover the syllabi prescribed by BOSEM and COHSEM, Anandkumar urged the Government to re-open all educational institutions as soon as possible.
Notably, all education institutions were closed after Ananda Singh Higher Secondary Academy student Sapam Robinhood was killed in police action on July 8 .
