Imphal, August 11 2015 : Foundation day celebrated
Thoubal College celebrated its 52nd foundation day on August 8 .

The gathering offered floral tributes at the memorial tomb of the founding members.

Later, teaching and non-teaching staff of the college went to Tentha village and distributed drinking water and sweetmeats to flood affected people, said a press release.

Shumang leela show on Aug 13
Manipur State Shumang Leela Council will stage a free show of 'Mareibak Ningba Koirengsana' at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen at 2 pm on August 13 .

The council has urged the public to watch the Shumang Leela.

Monetary aid handed over
Chanura Chaokhat Khongthang Lup, Khewa Company extended monetary aid to the family of Sapam Robinhood yesterday.

The organisation urged the concerned to broadcast updated and latest news on radio and TV channels on the dialogue between JCILPS and the Government.

Literary meet on August 13
As in past years, Patriotic Writers' Forum, Manipur will organise a children literary meet cum 13th August observance at Wisdom Foundation, Khangabok.

Spot painting, recitation, fancy dress, monologue and slogan competitions would be held on the day, said a press release.

Foundation day today
All India Students' Federation, Manipur State Council will observe its 80th foundation day at Irawat Bhavan tomorrow.

All Manipur Government Higher Secondary Lecturers' Welfare Association general secretary M Joykumar will deliver a speech on the topic, 'ILP movement in Manipur' at the function, said a press release.

Body imposes prohibition
The Semgat Sagatpa Marup has informed that the body will prohibit non-locals in carrying out business activities and halt their movement at their jurisdictional area at Wangkhei Pukhramba Leirak in support of the present pro-ILPS movement spearheaded by JCILPS.

Scholarship exam
The date for Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) scholarship exam has been fixed for Nov 1 .

The last date of submission of application form is Aug 30.Admit card will be issued to eligible candidates from Oct 10 .

Bamon Leikai Youth Club, Yairipok donated relief materials to flood affected people of Wangkhem Kendra, Yairipok Municipal Council ward no 4, our correspondent reports.

Bamon Leikai Youth Club, Yairipok and SEDO, Yairipok distributed the relief materials to the people under the supervision of local MLA Keisham Meghachandra Singh and Yairipok Municipal Council vice chairperson L Haripyari Devi today.

KRSU urges
Pointing out that EE of PHED Churachandpur division seldom attends office since assuming the charge, the Komrem Students' Union (Ghqs) said people are facing many inconveniences due to the irregularity of the EE.

UG held
A joint team of Imphal West district police commandos and troops of 25 Assam Rifles arrested a KCP cadre from Kameng bazar on August 8 .

He has been identified as Thonglensang Vaiphei (48) s/o Ekholal Vaiphei of Kangvai in Churachandpur district.

One blank letterhead of KCP was seized from his possession, said a press release issued by police PRO.
