Thoubal, December 10 2023: The first oath taking ceremony of the office bearers of All Manipur Democratic Students Organisation (AMDSO) was held yesterday at Lilong Haoreibi College located at Lilong Ushoipokpi.

The ceremony was graced by MA Sattar Shah, Principal, Lilong Haoreibi College as the chief guest; Haji Moulana Muheijuddin as the oath commissioner and Islahuddin, National Secretary, All India Tanzeem E Insaaf (AITI); Md Nasir Khan @ Imam, Legal Advisor, Indo Myanmar Road Unemployed Development Association; Huidrom Open Singh, president in-charge, Reformist Students Front (RSF) and Farid Bageemayum, President Pangal Students Organization as the guests of honour.

Notably, 18 office bearers of AMDSO including president Mohd Zayyid Khan, working president Wm Zakir Hussain, vice presidents Ziaur Rahaman and Firoj Khan, general secretary Salman Khurshid, finance secretary Salman, joint secretary Pusham Umar and Bm Najibullah, publicity secretary Firdosh Sheikh and organization secretary Zuber and Nazmul Huda were sworn in at the oath taking ceremony.

The action plan of AMDSO was also declared during the course of the ceremony.

Delivering the keynote address, Wm Zakir Hussain, working president, AMDSO stated that the students' organisation was formed after convening a public consultative meet participated by noted intellectuals and scholars of the State on October 25 based on the ideals of peace, study and struggle.

He asserted that AMDSO will act as a platform for students to address and deal with the impacts of the conflict on the student community.

He added that AMDSO will also provide assistance to students who are currently seeking shelter in relief camps and facing various obstacles as a result.
