Imphal, February 09, 2011:
Refuting the claim of PIB Defence Wing on the arrest of four women along with a compensation amount of Rs 60,000 to be given to PLA in connection with the recent killing of PLA cadre and four mobile phones by a combined force of 33 Assam Rifles under Red Shield Division Loktak Brigade and Bishnupur Police from Kumbi on January 5, assistant secretary publicity of RPF GM Changjou have clarified that the four women have no connection with the outfit in anyway.
The four women identified as Irom Suhasini Devi w/o Kunjo of Thoubal Ningombam Awang Leikai, Waikhom Maipokpi (65) w/o Yomba alias Guneshwor of Thoubal WanguToba, Thokchom Sorojini Devi (65) w/o Ibopishak of Thanga Bok Part-I and Takhelambam Ibeyaima w/o Rajen of Wangoo Sandangkhong Awang Leikai have nothing to do with the outfit nor have entrusted any task for collection of compensation from the local people, GM Changjou said, adding that RPF has no rules and regulations to the effect of collecting compensation when any of its cadres were killed.
During the course of investigation on the origin of the money, it has been found out that the amount was meant for installation of tower by Takhelambam Ibeyaima w/o Rajen, GM Changjou informed, while causing the Manipur Police and the Assam Rifles from taking recourse to such false propaganda in future.
In case the four women who were carrying the money happen to he men, then the security forces would have definitely killed them in some fake encounter just to get the money, assistant secretary publicity of RPF GM Changjou alleged.
