Manipur Rowing Association announces State rowing teams

Imphal, July 30 2018: Manipur Rowing Association has short-listed 3 boys and 9 girls who will represent State at the 39th Junior National Rowing Championship to be held at Bhopal from October 2 to 5.The boys who are recommended by the selection committee and the executive body of Manipur Rowing Association include Hemam Jackson Singh, Ngangbam Bikram and Thongbam Roshan while the girls team comprise of Haobijam Roshni, Thangjam Priya Devi, Haobijam Echan Devi, Hemam Roshni Devi, Mayengbam Merina, Athokpam Mirabai, Leikhram Rebina, Athokpam Kalpana and Thoudam Arena Devi.

Rabichandra Athokpam and N Lakshmi Devi will lead the State team as team manager and team coach respectively, said a statement issued by Manipur Rowing Association.

The association further informed that a 21 days non residential coaching camp for the selected players will be held from August 1 to 21 at Water Sports Complex, Takmu, Moirang.

The State team is expected to leave Imphal for the championship on September 29 .
