Imphal, October 16 2023: Armed Kuki militants fired several rounds of bullets towards Thamnapokpi today.

Thamnapokpi falls under Lamlai Assembly Constituency in Imphal East.

Kuki militants first fired 4-5 rounds of bullets towards Thamnapokpi at around 4 am and later fired several rounds of bullets at around 6.33 pm.

Although there has been no major escalation, Kuki militants have intermittently fired at civilian settlements in the fringes of Imphal East and Imphal West districts.

Notably, three villagers were hurt in firing at Sabungkhok Khunou on October 12.Then, a gun fight had ensued between the armed militants and security forces.
