Imphal, September 29 2023:
United All Communities Social Up-Lifters (UNACSU), Kangleipak has asserted that there is no need for a government if it cannot protect life and property of its citizens.
In a release, UNACSU general secretary Nongthombam Gobin recalled the excessive use of force including brutal asault, firing tear gas, rubber bullet and pellet guns on students rallying against the killing of two, students by Kuki militants.
Instead of protecting the people, the government is using the might of its security forces against the innocent people, he condemned, while questioning whether the people will remain silent when the government simply made statement saying that the case has been handed over to the CB1.When the government behaves as if it doesn't have any authority since the last five months of the conflict, there is no meaning of having a government that could not protect its citizens, he reasoned, while adding that only those who wanted to take political mileage and selfish people who take advantage of the situation shall continue to back the government.
People should know that the government is formed by them and they have the power to remove the government.
They should remember that people's power is the greatest, he maintained, while adding that the government is the messenger, while the people are the authority.
So, when the messenger try to become the authority causing troubles, then the people should never remain silent.
Gobin further stated that people are aware about difficulties facing since Kangleipak Manipur came under the Indian Union and urged the people to unite and show the people's power.
