Dr Pfoze launches 5G use case application project

Outer Manipur Member of Parliament, Dr Lorho Pfoze inaugurated the 5G use case application project implemented by AMTRON, Guwahati at District Hospital, Senapati, on Friday.
Senapati district is said to be the first to implement the project in the northeast region.
The applications include Non-Mydiatic Fundus Camera (NFC), Express ECG, digital foot scan and infusion monitor.
The virtual inauguration of 5G applications in northeast region with a hub at AMTRON, Guwahati, was screened online before the start of the programme.
While expressing gladness, Dr M Sokha-a, MS, District Hospital, Senapati, stated that apart from supplying all such important equipment to the district healthcare centre, the doctors were also taught how to measure heartbeat and respiratory systems through mobile phones.
The medical superintendent (MS) lauded the MP for all the initiatives brought to the district, adding that he is the first MP to bring such remarkable achievement to the healthcare centre.
Dr M Sokha-a further said that the present MP knows the importance of the healthcare system and has brought such facilities, which would be very beneficial to all who expect that more such facilities will be brought through him.
Speaking at the gathering, MP Dr Lorho Pfoze stressed the importance of regular health checkups to stay fit.
The MP with a medical background continued that with the introduction of artificial intelligence technology, early disease detection will become easier, benefiting people from remote areas to get results of health checkups within a few minutes.
He then expressed hope that new medical facilities will help reduce fatalities as they can refer patients immediately to other health facilities.
Terming diabetes as a silent killer, the MP stated that diabetes, when left unattended and not taken proper care of, could lead to blindness.
Such more applications will be arriving shortly, Dr Lorho Pfoze announced, adding that the detection of any disease could ward off unwanted illnesses.
Senapati is one of the first districts in the northeast region to get all such facilities.
Installation of such applications in other hill districts is in the pipeline, Dr Pfoze said while urging all to work for the benefit of all.
The MP also advised the doctors to give their best while dealing with the patients, citing that 75 per cent of patients suffer from physical pain and the rest from mental pain.
He urged the doctors to think about the way they talk to their patients.

CMO Senapati, Dr Sumpi Percy said that the introduction of artificial intelligence technology in healthcare facilities can enhance clinical decision-making, improve patient health outcomes, determine precise Dx, model disease progression, and calculate Rx plans, which allow them to perform their duties more efficiently.
A live demonstration of the artificial intelligence technology was showcased by Dr Jennifer Nane, ophthalmologist, District Hospital, Senapati, about NFC, and Dr James Vincent, physician, District Hospital, Senapati, about the ECG and Infusion Monitor, mentioning how the appliances can work wonders within a short duration of time.
