3rd round of talk on Zeliangrong political issues held

Imphal, December 06 2023: The Zeliangrong United Front and Zeliangrong Statehood Working Committee had a third round of political talk on the Zeliangrong Political issues with the Government of India on December 5 at New Delhi.

The outcome of the talk was conducive and mutual sharing on the possible aspect of early settlement of one of the oldest tribal political issues on the Zeliangrong political aspiration and movement in Northeast India, said a statement by the Media Cell, Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) .

Both sides have discussed the various aspects of historical, political and socio-economic issues of the Zeliangrong kindred people.

Further, reasoned that a contextual and contemporary possible solution was pondered upon and decided to frame pragmatic and comprehensive measures to be sorted out at the next round of talk to be scheduled at the earliest.

'The Zeliangrong United Front is aware of the current distorting elements being played by NSCN-IM with the public of Tamenglong and the Zeliangrong kindred people', it said.

The Zeliangrong kindred people also expressed dismay for disowning the highly valued historical contributions of Haipou Jadonang and Ranima Gaidinliu who have sown the seed of Naga nationalism.

Lastly the Zeliangrong United Front appealed to the Zeliangrong people not to be misled by such distorting politics and game of NSCN-IM who goes about trying to gain public support only to sustain their reign and rule of pure insurgency in the land.
