Imphal, July 05 2023:
Most of the issues and problems that are besieging the State at present will be solved when Kuki militants are made to adhere to the ground rules of the Suspension of Operation (SoO), said Kanglei Ima Lup (KIL) .
In a statement released yesterday, the Lup (organisation) identified Kuki militants under SoO as the reason for almost all of the problems and the current unrest.
The Chief Minister has stated that all bunkers will be destroyed and security forces will be deployed for the safety of the farmers in carrying out agricultural activities, besides opening schools.
Though late, his assurance is welcomed, but these can't solve the problems and restore normalcy.
Kuki militants under SoO must be brought under control and made to stick to the ground rules of the SoO, said KIL.
While Chin-Kuki militants who crossed the border are attacking the indigenous Meitei community, the Centre has not done anything sincerely to end the violence.
The Prime Minister's silence amid the Kuki militants' onslaught has deepened the apprehension on the minds of the people if there is a ploy to wipe out the Meitei community, asserted KIL.
The foreigner Chin-Kuki narco-terrorists have demanded separate administration, Kuki homeland.
They will never achieve this demand even in their wildest dream.
They should realise this early, said the Kanglei Ima Lup.
The narco-terrorists are demanding a separate administration as they have not been allowed to freely conduct drug business.
They shouldn't have the right to mention 'separate administration', let alone demand it, said KIL.
While urging the Centre to end the crisis at the earliest, KIL however cautioned that the Government of India must not set aside the issue of narco-terrorism when it works to find a lasting solution.
The Government of India must end narco-terrorism when it ends the crisis, it said.
The Lup further asserted that the Central forces brought in by the Centre have done little to contain violence and they seem to be protecting the Kuki militants.
These forces should be removed from the State, it added.
The Lup stressed that the Meiteis are only retaliating to the attacks of the Kuki militants.
The unrest will die down naturally when Kuki militants stop firing and attacking the Meiteis and their villages.
Meiteis will not retaliate when the Kuki militants do not attack them, it said.
Manipur is a small State inhabited by many communities and the Meiteis have never hated any other community intentionally.
The Meitei community has always been advocating peaceful coexistence of all communities, said KIL.
