Potential of artificial intelligence technologies in health care sector highlighted

The 5G Use Case Application Project implemented by AMTRON, Guwahati was inaugurated at the District Hospital Senapati (DHS) today by Outer Manipur MP Dr Lorho Pfoze.
Senapati district is stated to be the first to implement the project in the North Eastern Region.
The applications in the project include Non-Mydriatic Fundus Camera (NFC), Express ECG, Digital foot scan and Infusion Monitor.
The virtual inauguration of 5G Applications in the North Eastern Region with Hub at AMTRON, Guwahati was screened on line before the start of the programme.

Expressing contentment over the inauguration of the project, Medical Superintendent of DHS, Dr M Sokha-a said that the doctors of the hospital have been trained to use the important equipment of the project.
He lauded the Outer Manipur MP for his initiatives in bringing remarkable achievements in health care facilities in the district and expressed belief that the MP will continue to take up such beneficial initiatives.
Speaking at the occasion, Dr Lorho Pfoze highlighted the importance of regular health check-ups to stay fit.
With the introduction of these enhanced artificial intelligence technologies in the health sector, the MP stated that the services will benefit all, especially for people who come from remote areas to get the result of the health check ups within a few minutes.
The MP expressed belief that fatalities will be reduced with the introduction of such better health facilities .
He also maintained that timely detection of any form of illness will prevent unwanted outcomes.
Projects for installation of such useful applications for other districts are also in the pipeline, he added.
Calling for collective efforts to make Senapati district as one of the best districts, he appealed to the doctors to be more compassionate and empathetic towards the patients to address their problems and pave the way for healthy relations with the patients.
Chief Medical Officer, Senapati, Dr Sumpi Percy remarked that the introduction of Artificial Intelligence Technology in healthcare facility can enhance the clinical decision making, better patient health outcome, capable of determining precise Dx, modelling disease progression and calculating Rx plans which allow them to perform their duties more efficiently.
A live demonstration of the artificial intelligence technology was showcased by Dr Jennifer Nane, Ophthalmologist, District Hospital, Senapati about NFC while Dr James Vincent, Physician, District Hospital, Senapati presented on ECG and Infusion Monitor.
