7th Haraorou Trophy - MPTC, PYYDA make way into semis

MPTC Family Line and YMC-B, Haraorou defeated their respective rivals in today's quarter final matches of the ongoing 7th Haraorou Trophy State Level Village Open 7-A Side Football Tournament 2018 .
The tournament is being organised by Youth Modern Club, Haraorou at Haraorou Kangjeibung featuring 32 teams clubbed into 8 groups.
In the third quarter final match of the tournament staged today, MPTC Family Line edged out SCY-A, Yumnam Khunou by 2-1 goals while PYYDA, Pangei registered similar thrilling win against YMC-B, Haraorou by 4-3 margin to cruise into semis.
Both MPTC and SCY-A played out cautiously in the first half but were unable to open up until Malemnganba found the breakthrough in the 23rd minute to hand MPTC a 1-0 first half lead.
After the break, Jackson added another goal for MPTC in the 34th minute and strengthened the lead to 2-0 .
SCY-A also tried to come back into the game with crisp passing and better understanding.
Off such one move they were able to reduce the gap to one goal through H Ajoykumar in the 36th minute.
Both teams tried to add up in the latter part of the game but could not disturb the scoreline till the final whistle.
In the last quarter final match, Rajiv, Naoton and Akash Pradhan scored one goal each in the 9th, 17th minute and 22nd minute to give PYYDA a 3-0 lead in the first half.
YMC-B however staged a strong comeback in the second half and were able to equalise the score through goals scored by Kishan (29'), Sanjoy (34') and Sadananda (43').With the score locked at 3-3, both teams gave everything in search of the winner and it was Naoton of PYYDA who put in the last gasp goal (50th minute) to wrap up the game 4-3 .
PJPC, Pukhao will take on Mangal FC in the first semifinal match tomorrow at 2 pm while MPTC Family line will lock horns with PYYDA Pangei in the last semi-final match latter at 3.30 pm at the same ground.
