NHPC conducts medical camp cum drawing competition

Imphal, April 27 2018:
A free medical camp was jointly organized by NHPC Loktak Power Station (LPS) and Loktak Downstream Hydroelectric Power Corporation Limited (LDHCL) followed by a drawing competition for the students from classes V to VIII on the theme, "Save Energy-Save Earth" at Taudaijang, Tamenglong district yesterday.
The medical camp cum drawing competition was organised under CSR & SD .
Both the activities were inaugurated by chief guest of the event, Biswajit Basu, General Manager Loktak Power Station and Chief Executive Officer LDHCL.
Speaking on the occasion, the CEO said that, as part of social responsibility and community development, Loktak Power Station has been conducting free cataract operations and free medical camps in collaboration with Shija Hospitals and Research Institute (SHRI) under project "Netra Jyoti", to improve the health profile of the local people.
The Power station also organized various skill development programmes under various courses in which more than 470 unemployed youth, 60 women weavers and 52 farmers of project affected area/families have been trained.
NHPC also organized free coaching camps for minor children of the weaker section of the location.
In addition to this, the Power Station is also sponsoring various local football/hockey/polo tournaments to explore and motivate the hidden talents among the local youth.
More than 300 patients were given free consultancy and medicine after proper screening by the doctors.
Later, prizes were distributed to the winners of drawing competition.
