Inter GC/BN Aquatic and Cross Country Competition 2019 conclude

Inter GC/BN Aquatic and Cross Country Competition 2019 was organized at GC CRPF, Imphal, Langing, Manipur from March 12 to 14 under aegis of Rajesh Kumar IPS, IGP, CRPF, M&N Sector.
In the various events of Swimming competition, swimmers of various units of Manipur and Nagaland Sector CRPF participated and the swimmers of 143 Bn won most gold medals.
The closing ceremony was organized this morning at GC CRPF, Imphal, Langing.
Rajesh Kumar, IPS, IGP, CRPF, M&N Sector, Mohinder Kumar DIGP of M&N Sector , RK Singh DIGP, M&N Sector, HK Kanaujia, DIGP, CRPF, I Lokendra Singh, DIGP, GC Imphal and Lal Chand Yadav, Commandant � 143 Bn CRPF, and Other Officers, SO's & ORs attended and grace the Closing Ceremony.
Addressing the sportsmen and the gathering, Rajesh Kumar IPS, IGP M&N Sector CRPF said that sports person should possess game spirit rather than the spirit of winning, while lauding the sports persons of Manipur for bringing glories to the State and the country.
He also encourage the jawans for more participation in sports.
He further said that the tournament was organised to motivate the younger generation in the field of Games & Sports and gave them a chance to expose their hidden talents.
There are many talented and potential sports person in Manipur who can compete in the international level and scores of world class sports person can be produced if proper training is provided right from the young age and these competitions would help to find talents and pave the way to compete at higher levels.
143 Bn CRPF topped in all events of the competition including 50 m free style, 50 m breast stroke, 50 m back stroke, 50 m butterfly and 4x 50 freestyle relay.
The Best Swimmer award was given to ASI/GD L Nongpoknganba of 143 Bn .
69 Bn CRPF finished second and Group Centre Imphal were third in the Inter GC/BN Aquatic Competition.
Similarly in cross country competition, Team of 143 Bn finished 1st and the team of 109 claimed second position.
Trophy and Medals were awarded to the winners and runner up teams by chief guest.
The motto of the event was to spread awareness about games and its importance besides teaching the value of team work and capacity building, said a press note of CRPF.
