20th Challenge Cup : Chajing FC, Langol FC reach semi finals

The first quarter final match of the 20th Challenge Cup Veteran Football Tournament 2018 staged at Mapal Kangjeibung saw Chajing FC got better of VSO, Tekcham by 8-5 goals off a penalty shoot out after a 1-1 draw during regulation time.
Langol FC also beat FV Tabungkhok by 10-7 goals after 1-1 in the second quarter final match to advance into semis.
VSO were hopeful as they got a 1-0 lead till the end of first through a goal scored by M Sanjai in the 29th minute.
Chajing FC who qualified for quarter finals as Group A leader were consistent in their effort to level the score and it was in the 38th minute that Kh Hemo Singh gave the equaliser.
The latter part of the match saw both teams trying hard to brought in the winner but the game ended in a 1-1 draw as defence set up on both ends did their job well in containing all incoming threats in time.
In the shoot-out, S Buddha, N Ganethi Singh, Kh Hemo Singh, M Chandrakanta, W Robin Singh, N Sagar Singh, S Noren Singh scored for Chajing FC while only Sanjai, W ibomcha, Kh Sumanta and P Brojendro scored for VSO.
In yet another similar conclusion, Langol FC were held to a 1-1 draw during regulation time calling for kicks from penalty marks to decide the winners.
The first half ended goalless as both teams were evenly poised and marked each other well to deny all scoring chances.
The goal drought ended in the 41st minute when K Sanayai of the Langol side found the breakthrough.
But the slender lead was of no use as W Rajesh of FV Tabungkhok banged in the equaliser in the 55th minute to finish the game in a 1-1 stalemate.
In the penalty shoot-out, Langol FC's Bijoykumar, Angousana, Dhananjoy, Brojen, Jotin, Binod, Gitchandra, Sanayai and Sanahal were able to beat the keeper of FV, Tabungkhok while only L Lolendro, L Debachandra, Th Binanta, Th Lolen, A Rajen and Ng Noren scored for the losing side.
