NSA wrap up 33rd Sub-Junior State Archery Championship with highest medal haul

NSA emerged the unit to collect most medal as the 33rd Sub-Junior State Archery Championship organised by Manipur Archery Association at Langmeidong playground, Kakching district came to an end today.
NSA bagged a total of 5 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze medals to become the unit with the highest medal haul while VAA were the closest competitors claiming 3 gold, 1 bronze medal.
Hosts KMAC managed 1 gold and 3 silver medals at the championship.
The last day of the championship saw Suchitra of VAA clinched the sub- junior girls' individual 50+50 m compound event securing a total of 666 points to beat L Dulina of ACE who scored 661 points and L Monika of SAIRC who managed 657 points.
VAA added yet another gold medal when Erwin of the unit shot 670 points in the sub-junior boys 50+50 m compound event.
NSA's N Malemnganba secured 657 points while RK Priyobrata of UAC made 644 points to claim the second and the third place respectively.
In the sub-junior girls 60+60 M recurve individual event, Y Anupama fetched the gold shooting 624 points while SAIRC's G Languilu (613 pts) and K Prameshwori (606 pts) finished second and third.
K Amarjit of NSA earned a gold medal in the sub-junior boys' 60+60 M recurve event by scoring 640 points while E Robinson (628 pts) of SAERC and Boipu Baite of NSA (625 pts) claimed the silver and the gold medal.
VAA team comprising of Erwin Laishram, O Henary and Johnson Leichom shot 1901 points to claim the Sub-Junior Compound boys team event.
ACE (1733 pts) and PC (1523 pts) sealed the second and the third spot of the event.
The closing ceremony of the championship which featured a total of 72 boys and 96 girls was graced by T Surchandra Singh, MLA Kakching AC; Dr Radheshyam Yumnam, MLA Hiyanglam AC; K Robindro, Deputy Speaker; Th Satyabrata Singh, MLA, Yaiskul AC and Ph Bijenkumar, president, Manipur Archery Association who feted the medal winning archers.
