Ideal Club, Lamka Hooper, YPHU and WUYC continue to impress with stellar performances

Ideal Club, Sagolband Tera; Lamka Hooper Ccpur; YPHU Lalambung Makhong and WUYC Wangkhei Agom Leikai continued their impressive form in the ongoing 22nd Senior State Basketball Championship which is underway since November 11 at Brahmapur Nahabam Basketball Court under the aegis of Manipur Basketball Association.
Ideal Club, Sagolband Tera defeated CYLC, Chingamathak by 64-52 points in a Group A league match played in the morning today.
Ideal Club were leading the first quarter with 29-20 points and extended the lead further to 44-38 points in the second quarter.
Ideal Club continued to impress in the third quarter too by maintaining the lead at 55-44 points and eventually won the match by 64-52 points at the end of the fourth quarter.
Top scorer of Ideal Club, N Romeo gathered 25 points while Tinku, RK Anjan, Pratap and Maidindro scored 16, 13, 9 and 1 points respectively.
For CYLC, Chingamathak, N Jackson scored 23 points, Y Amardeep 11 points, S Vishwanath 9 points, W Romen 7 points and L Rambo scored 2 points.
In the second Group B league match played in the morning, Lamka Hooper Ccpur beat YOSC, Khurai 33-16 points.
Lamka Hooper led the first quarter with 12-3 points and dominated the second quarter with a score of 26-11 points and further extended the lead to 33-12 points in the third quarter and won the match by 33-16 points convincingly in the fourth quarter.
Both Moikhanmun and Dou Mai continued to produce stellar performances and scored 8 points each for Lamka Hooper while the teammate Johnny added 7 points.
Sochin Liyan and Stalin scored 4 points each while Jou Liyan scored 2 points in their journey to victory.
For YOSC, Tangangba scored 23 points, Naocha 3 points, David, Rohit and Meirba scored 2 points each.
In the first Group A league match played in the afternoon, YPHU Lalambung Makhong overpowered Youth Club, Uripok Achom Leikai by 58-38 points.
YPHU were leading the first quarter with 11-10 points and extended the lead further to 23-18 points in the second quarter.
YPHU added some momentum in the third quarter to lead match by 45-33 points and easily won the match by 58-38 points at the end of the fourth quarter.
The scorer of YPHU are K Kemlin (23), Ch Tutu (11), M Vicky (9), L Ozzy (9), L Rajesh (4) and K Jetli (2).For Youth Club, Uripok Achom Leikai, the scorers are Chittaranjan (17), Ch Vivek (8), Tamachui (6), Bipin (4) and Praneeth (3).In the second Group B league match played in the afternoon, WYC Wangkhei Agom Leikai downed St Anthony Sports Club by 73-60 points.
WUYC Wangkhei Agom Leikai led the first quarter with 22-13 points, however, St Anthony Sports Club fought back in the second quarter to reduce the margin to 35-31 points in favour of WUYC.
WUYC continued to lead in the third quarter too with a score of 52-45 points, however, WUYC rolled up its sleeves and pressed hard in the last quarter and wrapped the match with a healthy lead of 73-60 points over St Anthony Sports Club.
Viking emerged the top scorer of WUYC who has scored 24 points followed by Marken (20), Shanker (12), Suraj (9) and Dilip (8).For St Anthony Sports Club, John Paul scored 28 points, Sachi 13 points, Victor 6 points, Marshall 5 points, Tarun 4 points, Hashokmi and Christopher scored 2 points each.
Model Club Chingamakha will meet Youth Club Uripok Achom Leikai in a Group A league match at 6.30 am while WYC Wangkhei Agom Leikai will face ESU Palace Compound in a Group B league match at 7.30 am.
YPHU Lalambung Makhong will square off with CYLC Chingamathak in a Group A league match at 1.30 pm while St Anthony Sports Club will square off with Lamka Hooper Ccpur in a Group B league match at 2.30 pm .
