Meiraba scripts new history for Manipur in international Badminton

Imphal, March 16 2013 :
Eleven years old Meiraba Luwang has added a new page in the history of Manipuri sports with his enthrailing performances in his debut international championship.
Moreover he has also assured at least three medals after entering final in three events in the ongoing Israel Junior International Badminton Championships 2013 organised by Israel Badminton Association.
Maisnam Meiraba Luwang son of badminton coach Maisnam Romesh from Sega Road Khwairakpam Leikai is the first ever international badminton player from Manipur.

The Manipuri lad defeated his compatriot Thokala Pavan Krishna 21-10, 21-15 in the semi final match of U-11 Boys Singles event today and entered final.
In U-13 Boys Doubles, Meiraba and his partner Raz Kischizky of Israel beat Yonay Handros and Shon Rotsh Tein of Israel 21-13, 21-9 in the semi final match to enter the final.
In Mix Doubles event also, Meiraba and his partner Eden Mosses entered final after defeating the pair of Anastasla Lebicheva and Igor Lubanow of Russia 21-11, 19-21, 21-9 in the semi final match.
