CC Meet : AFC Thoubal beat Symropia CCpur 8-7; AIM trump FC TYDA 6-3 to advance to next stage

AFC Thoubal beat Symropia FC Churachandpur 8-7 on penalties after the match ended 2-2 to move into the next stage of the CC Meet (62nd Sir Churachand Singh KCSI, CBE Memorial Football Tournament 2019) at Mapal Kangjeibung today.
The evenly played match started cautiously to play out a 1-1 draw till the break with T Hensualpao of Symropia FC scoring a goal in the 17th minute and a counter goal by Md Asif of AFC Thoubal in the 23rd minute.

The second half saw the two sides toil hard to find the lead but to no avail for a huge portion until Ng Peter Singh put AFC ahead in the 81st minute.
As AFC Thoubal tried their best to hold the scoreline to their advantage and close the match 2-1, Symropia bounced back with Siamminthang scoring the levelling goal in the 89th minute, a minute before the normal time ended forcing to choose winner by penalty shootouts.
At the end of the penalty shootouts, AFC Thoubal emerged victorious with the final scoreline 8-7 against Symropia FC CCpur.
C Pauhinmuan, Siamminthang, M Khammuanthang, T Kapkhabnkhuaz and Peter Khumrolian of Symropia FC scored from the penalty marks while Sahidur Rahaman, Y Sobha Singh, Ng Peter Singh, S Thomas Singh, M Oken Singh and I Suraj Singh scored for AFC Thoubal to seal their fate of entering the next round.
In another match at Mapal Kangjeibung, AIM beat FC TYDA 6-3 on penalties after the normal time ended with the scoreline 2-2.Until the end of the first half, the scoreline favoured AIM with them leading by 2-1 against FC TYDA.
A goal from Peter Seiminthang in the 17th minute and another by Md Akbar Khan in the 23rd minute boosted the AIM spirit with 2-0 lead against FC TYDA and continued to hold the line until K Jeanbilung of FC TYDA found the net in the 39th minute to make the score 2-1.Despite chances on the both sides, the score remained 2-1 until the end of the first half.
The second half match saw energetic and determined FC TYDA with Th Mani Singh levelling the score 2-2 in the 56th minute.
Both sides played to turn the tides but couldn't score any goal to seal their fates till the time referee blew the end of the match.
L Gobind, Md Akbar Khan, T Nelson and Peter Seiminthang of AIM scored from the penalty mark to make the final score 6-3 against FC TYDA and enter the next round of the tournament.
K Hanbilung was the only player to score a goal for FC TYDA from the penalty mark.
