Kabui Mother's Association (KAMA) Manipur in collaboration with Tingkao Ragwang Chapriak Chabuan Phuam Manipur, conducted a social service cum cleanliness drive at Rani Gaidinlu Park, Mantripukhri, as a part of the Nupi Lan celebration as well as in light of the approaching 105th birth anniversary of the freedom fighter, today.
KAMA has also appealed for an appointment to meet the Chief Minister before the observation.
Speaking to media persons on the sideline of the event, KAMA secretary Ranjita Golmei said that KAMA appreciates the building of a statue of Rani Gaidinlu at the tomb of the freedom fighter by the 23rd Assam Rifles in collaboration with Rani Gaidinlu Foundation and Longkhao village authority but condemned the destruction of the structure which had existed in its place before hand without any form of consultation or prior notice.
She further appealed to the CM to look into the matter and repair the tomb of the freedom fighter properly again.
